Australian Crawl

This is classic Aussie Rock, I arranged it around 10 years ago, this is a re-recording with better gear. You are looking at the last of 3 takes, and includes a few errors punched out, there are a few things still in there that aren't "perfect" but I let them through.  Listening back there are a few bits I need to rework. I've been playing it so long that it has morphed somewhat and I can see I've dropped some of the trickier resolves. Laziness! Good to have recorded it again then to see it and hear it!

It's drop D tuning, love that big bottom D. Needed to restring before I recorded this, oh well, sorry. The tone is lacking a certain crispness. Strings aren't fully dead, but they don't have the crispy punch anymore.

As part of the key features of this arrangement I throw in a "snare drum feel" with my middle and ring finger, while my index finger lets the melody ring. I quite like the sound of that, it's not something I do in many songs, which has made this arrangement one of my favourites.
